I used to be better at it than I am now.
When I worked in a factory, I was considered to be exceptionally fast and accurate.
In my opinion, it wasn't that I was so much faster than someone else, but that I multitasked. I never had an idle hand.
For example... While one hand might be loading or unloading a machine, the other would be busy doing something else entirely. Like organizing a carton of parts.
A lot of people don't realize it, but musicians have to multitask too.
That's partly why you see so many "frontmen", or lead singers, that don't play instruments. Many aren't at their best with either when they do. Even many that do both just more or less strum along rather than play anything complex.
It's kinda the pat your head rub your tummy thing.
