And yes, I'll opt for the Healthy and Wise.

I'm afraid I'd get into trouble with Wealthy.

Okay, thanks.

I forgive you.

You've been a good and faithful friend for many years,
I remember that.

I will post a question about Heidi Baker now...
(I love that woman! I prayed for her at that church in Toronto she was being interviewed at, the Toronto Airport Christian Fellowship, now called Catch The Fire.)

I'm sorry.
What with all the conflict and misguided pursuits today, I guess my brain's been stuck in a rut.

But you weren't answering "a general audience," K, you were answering me, and you were responding to very specific things I had said and done.

Thanks for explaining.
I was a bit confused.

When we talk here, it's not like a private conversation.
It's more like talking on stage with an audience.
I have that in mind when I post.

My point was meant for that general audience.
The point being, there are other ways to feel satisfied or rewarded than chasing "things"... Like via an act of kindness.

People want those things because they think they'll make them feel good.
So it's not really the things they're chasing, but a feeling.
Since that's the case, there are easier and more productive ways to achieve that goal.
An act of kindness is one.

Theology, philosophy, and ideology aside, logic leads to the same conclusion.
In other words, it works for everyone, regardless of what they believe or don't believe.
In a very diverse World, it's nice to have constants that work across the board.

I'm thinking if more people were to recognize what it really is they're chasing, they might opt for the easier method of obtaining it... The act of kindness.

Sorry if I made it sound like I was saying something critical of you.
I didn't mean it that way.

Oh Kraven-- I took offense-- it was me.
You wanted to give sympathy and you did, and I appreciate that.
That was kind of you. Thank-you!

The part I had a tough time with was when you said "I wish we all understood that the things we chase are really just things to make us feel good."

My friend was actually a relative through marriage, from a particular cultural background that I strongly believed before my God that I was to reach out to her. She lived 4 hours' drive away, it wasn't so convenient for me to visit her. I'd play music, hymns for her, laugh with her, play cards with her, things like that.
And share stories that I knew about the relatives she was close to -- she really liked that part.

Yes, it brought me joy, as I gradually got to know her, but I wasn't doing something "just to make me feel good".
I could have done a good deal of other things instead with that time and money to get there (gas and all) that would actually have made me feel much better-- but could hear what Jesus/Yeshua was telling me to do, so I did it, often when it wasn't so convenient to visit.

Not everyone does things just to make us feel good, I'm sure you realize that as well.
Though, granted, we all ~do~ do a lot of things to make us feel better, like writing this to you, & hopefully like your reading this as well.

But I do believe that because I follow Jesus, and because he commands me to love people, and because I wasn't loving in what and how I said that to you (and without an explanation), I needed to come back here and offer this your way.

Hey, it's getting colder here, starting to freeze up after a thaw & rain today-- stay safe & warm, I will too.

Bye for now--

No offense, K, but don't be an ass.

I'm really sorry to hear that, Triss... And yes, I do remember. That was a very good thing, and thank you for that.

I wish we all understood that the things we chase are really just things to make us feel good.
Feeling good being the real thing of value, and cheaply purchased.
An act of kindness, and it's yours.

Maybe you could start up the fire cracker tradition once again...? ... !

Thanks K, it's been an active New Year already.
Sad in one sense, in that a wonderful elderly friend of mine died this past week, right after New Year's -- I used to go to the nursing home and play my harp for her, she was like a Grandmother to me, but really more like a friend!

... You recall why I started to visit elderly friends in a couple of nursing homes... as a tribute to someone else's loved one passing away... and that's one promise I made that came with AMAZING RETURNS back to me!!!

I will miss my friend-- visited her for a number of years now, went to her funeral a couple of days ago, loved her dearly--

Ha! Sounds great!

I heard one firecracker at the stroke of midnight, here.
One single POP! and that was it.

If we had a bonfire in the neighborhood, we'd have both the Fire Department, and the Cops swooping in.
When I was a kid everyone burned their own trash and leaves... No more.

In the winter we could always count on a burning trash basket somewhere to warm up.

Happy New Year Triss Clan!!!! image image image

Nice, Kraven!!
We carried on at the stroke of midnight banging pots & pans-- quite the posting on facebook, lol!

My brother lit some firecrackers that woke up any of the neighbourhood that could possibly have been sleeping & our next-door-neighbours had their traditional outdoor bonfire right by the road -- not a problem, as we live out of town on a cottage road, lol!

One friend of the family flew south from a Native reserve where he works as a nurse -- his brothers & sister were thrilled to see him -- don't you love these homecomings?

I knew he was coming home for a week, but precious few others knew -- hard to keep a secret for some, exp. for my friend K_ _ , who would have told everyone 'in confidence,' lol!

A Happy New Year to you, to Phil & her family, to Don --
It's time for me to catch some shut-eye...
...

Ah-- I did enjoy this evening, good to be around friends you totally trust, who know your story to degrees & still love you & accept you just the way you are -- gotta love these people! It does come from the LORD Jesus having healed their emotions from deep woundings in the Christian training school they were in this past fall/winter, as well.

I'm sleepy now, so think I'll head of to "Lala Land"--

Thanks Philosopher!
See you in a bit! ...Got to catch a few winks now, haha!!

Had a fun time at my brother & sister-in-law's, with friends there, with the whole lot of us banging pots & pans at the strike of midnight & such fun nonsense, hehe!!
