Why not write poetry instead of listing the food ingredients -- at least on the french side of the product?

LISTEN to the CBC radio 'interview' (-hehe!!) below on the 'poetic justice' taken by this 'company' in Quebec... Go to:
http://www.cbc.ca/radio/thisisthat/french-food-labels-backwards-driver-town-amalgamation-the-unity-shovel-1.2864808/quebec-company-admits-packaging-information-different-in-french-than-in-english-1.2864809

In his interview with This is That, Marc St. Louis, the head of Marketing for Gainey Foods, revealed why his company did this:

"If a product contains salt, in English you would just list 'salt.' But in French we want to know the story behind the salt. What makes it salt? Does this salt have a passion?"

(-hint: have fun with it, but don't take this too seriously...)

As confusing as labels are, they may as well be written in French poetry.

Of course I disagree with Marc St. Louis.
Ingredient labels are utilitarian, not art.

No, I didn't know it was a comedy routine.
I just thought the guy was a little off his rocker.

Yeah, you probably picked up that this is an entirely prefabricated comic sketch-- these two guys who come up with this stuff, they've given me & the fam more than a few laughs over the past couple of years.

Funny concept, eh?
