Looks like I covered just about everything.
One was bound to be right.

I used to do the same with my afghans.
I'd pull out the doggie clippers and near shave them at least once a year.
When I lived in the sticks, they pretty much ran free.
That makes for a lot of burrs and snarls.

Oh.... And a regular hunt for woodies.

Haha! Yesss, Kevlar did arrive back from his East African excursion with a beard!
But no, not what I had in mind, nor my own 'do' --

I'm thinking of our pup whose hair never stops growing!
His last doggy trimming was back in the fall.
Time for me to pull out the scissors and lower his body temperature while inside so he won't overheat, lol.

Then once I've chopped off enough and the neighbours think he's caught 'mange,' I take him to the dog-dressers and have him properly trimmed up.

I was thinking yours, preparing for a spring look.
I would think it would be too early for the dog.

Hmmmm.... Did Kevlar grow a beard?

Yes, it's about hair, lol.
But whose hair?

Tris, I want to cut off the endless series of precipitation in North East American. I would like to send some to the drought stricken West Coast.
Our last storm was a mix of snow and sleet. We woke up to a walkway and street that truly looked like an ice skating ring. Chopping it was close to impossible. Some of it melted yesterday but, more is predicted for Thursday.

I should add to shovel as much you do your in great shape.
After a car accident and a year of physical Therpray. I got back in incrediable shape. In those days I shoveled with ease. I was younger and spent three or four hours working out at a time. I worked out three to four times per week. I did advance low impact aerobics, machines, free weight Yoga. and Calesthenics.

Tris, I can use all the prayers I can get.
We all need to pray that enough of civilized humanity will unite with Israel, Jordan and those who have faced what the terrorist plan is. I cry every time I hear about what these Devil worshippers are doing. They are burning children alive and Obama does next to nothing.

You are doing very well with your workouts, Phil.
I wish I were as faithful in mine.
I also wish you were not in pain.
Would you let me pray for you?
For your husband?

Tris, your amazing.
I can not even promptly paint my high ceilings. I am not as strong as I was in my youth. I use to be in awesome shape. I am still fit but, I feel the difference sometimes.
After forty it keeps getter harder but, I worked out three to four times per week. I lift weights and never give up. The cold wears me down. I have arthritis and my husband has Stenosis. I am limber but, I do fear heights.

We leave a good 2 - 5 inches on the roof to protect the roof shingles, as well.
At this point, there's no need to totally clear off a roof, unless there's leaking.
(And there isn't, at home.)

I climb up a ladder against the side of the house and shovel it off.
I stay away from the edge and keep my body's centre of gravity down when I'm anywhere near the edge.
I don't go within 3 feet of the edge of the house at the lower ends -- I let the shovel do the 'pushing' for me.

Tris, I do not think I could deal with your climate anymore.
I have been through blizzards and nasty weather since I was a children. The past two Winters have been constant snow, hail and ice. Ice is the worst of all.
We have family near Boston. They are talking about getting another house in Florida. I wish we could afford a second home.
How do you clean roof tops?

My husband does hire younger men to help out -- the body needs a break sometimes.
(And I reward him for his good work, lol! -I do!!)

I do pace myself, as well, but when I see a need to shovel things out, I'm motivated to help right away, as the snow is lighter the sooner you get to it.

We get this much snow pretty much every year, Phil.
We know how much is too much.
And the engineers here, they account for the snow load from when the buildings are built.
We're Northern People, Phil!!
It's where we live, it's part of who we are!

Tris than, I will have to agree with Kraven.
I truly hope none of us get much more snow. My husband has family in a small town near Boston and they have more snow than anyone else I know.
Tris, how does your husband clean roofs covered in ice and show?
I heard that people in Boston are cleaning roofs because the snow is causing them to collapse but, how can this be safely done?

Yes, I can see that that would definitely be your 'Big Cut'!

I'm pulling for you in that!

But... it's not my 'Big Cut'--
