Were you aware that you can grow lettuce and other vegetables you bought from your grocery store?

http://lessonsinfarming.wordpress.com/2013/04/01/re-growing-lettuce/

That is, you can cut the bottom off of the lettuce you bought & ate, stick it in some water, and re-grow it -- as long as they are not genetically modified to begin with.

That's pretty cool.... I might try that.

You could do a rotation deal... Eating one... Growing another.
The number in the operation would depend on how fast you go through lettuce.

In fact, I'm due to go shopping in a week or two, so I'm going to give it a go.

Thanks Triss.

I will.
It looks about as simple as it gets.
They didn't say anything about adding anything to the water.
Just swap it out daily and some sun and you're good to go.

To bad you can't grow dressing.

It looks fairly easy to grow.
At work the boss is starting to grow various varieties of lettuce, very healthy types, so I'll be eating that soon as well.

The husband & I do eat romaine lettuce too.
we'll give it a go; lettuce know how you experiment works out!
