YES, I believe that is most of the problem. I do not understand why most people think you have to have a college education to get anyplace in this world. You are correct in saying that when an exam is scheduled for next Tuesday a lot of students will stay up all night cramming for it. BUT, how much that the students cramming will actually remember what they read?
When I am doing something and it does not come out right I will go back to it and figure it out on my own, not many people can do that, they will rely on a friend or a neighbor to help them. That's all fine and dandy But what to do if there in not anyone around to help, that is the question?
Many people do not think of a job outside of a college education, like who is going to fix the plumbing in your home, the electricity, putting in a new lamp socket and things like that. They are just little things that all add up. There are no auto mechanics where I live, so I have to depend on someone I know to do that work, I have little knowledge about fixing a car. Yes I can change the oil and most of the normal things many people can do, but when it comes to doing a break job and certain things like that I cannot do it anymore. When I was younger I could do many of these repairs, but not anymore. I am just not in the shape I was, before I got sick. People should realize that something will go wrong and they will not be able to find anyone to fix the problem. I think more people should learn the common tasks of fixing stuff on there own, and do more training in a specific field. We have a great community college about 5 miles from our home, and you can learn just about anything there. You can go at night if you have a regular job that you work during the day, and I do know many people who take advantage of the college. Many of them make more money than someone coming out of college!!
I wish more people would at least think about an occupation where someone will need your services sooner or later, you will always have a job!!!
