Do difficult experiences makes us stronger? Are they apart of everyones life?

It seems to me that the one constant in life is situations that require strength to resolve. You can't give up or accept anything that does not help your family.
I have learned to stay positive, determined and realistically hopeful.

Electra 		I agree with Heather--based on my personal experience.

Due to my experiences, I have the material to write a book that my fiance believes I can publish. My experiences, in the end, may make me a successful author of fiction.

However, my experiences also cost me my health, my view of the world, my motivation (I was physically worn out and suffered from PTSD for years), etc.

So, while bad experiences may be a part of everyone's life, there are bad experiences and then there are bad experiences. The reason why there are laws against racism and sex discrimination is because these experiences give certain groups of people more than the expected, commonplace hell that we come to believe life will grant us at one time or another.

heatherjune 		I think they do in one sense, yes, however there's usually the flip side of course that can be detrimental in all sorts of ways, such as your health; having your eyes opened wide to the nasties of life can be frustrating according to the severity of the effect; some things we have to accept as we can't change them.. and so we have to learn to stay positive and hopeful as there is no other recourse. I DO hate being between a rock and a hard place!

Kravenhead 		Yup... it's kinda like resistance. Resistance is good for us.... whether it be in physical or mental exercise.
If everything were easy, we'd be weaklings.
I kinda think it's a little funny when I hear someone say they're having one of those days where nothing is going right. On any given day, the things that go right, far outnumber the things that go wrong. I mean, we woke up, our hearts are still pumping, our hands still grip... most of our little tasks go just fine etc. etc.
The things that go wrong just make a bigger impression.
